“Growing as a family of God through loving community, compassionate service and the Gospel of Jesus Christ”

The term “family” is often used to describe a variety of interpersonal relationships and groups, such as in sport teams or fraternities and sororities. But the “family” that God envisions and has established in Christ is the church family.

The Apostle Paul says in his letter to the Ephesians that believers “are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of His household” (2:19). In Christ, we have been joined together to form a new identity, a new man, a new body—that is, the household of God.

As members of God’s household, enCompass Church strives towards building up a loving, vibrant community that supports and is connected with one another. But we are also a family that is dedicated to compassionate service, just as God demonstrates compassion towards us.  In the same way He never relents in His pursuit of us, we also are determined never to relent in our service towards the church or the lost. But most of all, enCompass is a Gospel-centered church family. The household of God, declares Paul, is “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone” (Eph 2:20). The ultimate foundation of the church is Jesus Christ. Thus, enCompass Church is a ministry centered around, focused on, and grounded in Jesus Christ.

To this end, enCompass Church exists.

As enCompass Church, we believe the following

We believe in one God, eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The Bible

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be verbally inspired by God through the words of human authors. The Scriptures are inerrant and infallible in the original autographs, and are the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the ultimate authority by which every dimension of human understanding and enterprise should be judged.

The Human Condition

We believe that God created Man in His image, after His likeness, but the whole human race fell in the fall of the first Adam. Human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, lost, darkened in their understanding, alienated from God, morally and spiritually dead, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that Jesus Christ lived and died on the cross as our representative and substitute, the all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation. Those who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord shall become children of God and receive eternal life as coheirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. He convicts the world of its guilt and regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs into the family of God. In addition, He indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers all the saints for Christ-like living and service.

The Church

We believe that the true church comprises all who believe in Jesus Christ. They are the body and bride of Christ, members of the family of God. It is the church’s mission to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations.

Christ’s Return

We believe in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ to earth in glory and power.
